Lattice Suspended Ceiling Installation Instructions

Get to know our detailed instructions for installing a lattice suspended ceiling - from choosing the right tools to performing the individual steps and checking the quality. In addition, you will also find a video with the entire process, so that you can guarantee the safe execution of the installation activities.

The necessary tools and how to properly install a lattice suspended ceiling

Choose the desired lattice suspended ceiling configuration

You can independently choose the desired configuration of the lattice suspended ceiling according to your personal preferences. In the table below, the classic and pyramidal versions of suspended ceilings are combined in one section, since their installation is identical. The features of the GLK cassette models are located in a separate section. For the "blind" type models, it is desirable for our specialist to calculate the necessary accessories based on the dimensions of the cells. If you need assistance, do not hesitate to contact our specialists, who will advise you and perform a detailed calculation of the necessary consumables for your desired configuration.

1

Ceiling marking

The level (horizontal) at which the suspended ceiling will be located is determined and a wall L-shaped profile is marked. The distance from the suspended ceiling to the main one should be at least 150 mm.

2

Installation of a wall L-shaped profile

The wall L-shaped profile (corner) is installed using dowels. The distance between the dowels should be 300 – 500 mm.

3

Marking and installation of hangers for the main profile 2400 mm

They are attached to the main ceiling using anchor dowels with a step of 800 – 1000 mm. The hangers closest to the wall must be fixed at a distance of no more than 600 mm from it.

4

Assembly of the frame from main profiles 2400 mm and longitudinal profiles 600 mm

We fasten the main profiles in the corresponding areas and connect them to each other using connectors. We install longitudinal profiles between the main profiles.

5

Assembly and installation of the grid

We fasten the main profiles in the corresponding areas and connect them to each other using connectors. We install longitudinal profiles between the main profiles.

ATTENTION!

Installation can be done in a different sequence - consider how to proceed according to the specifics of your project:

Option 1 – First install the frame (step 4) throughout the room and then install the grill (step 5).

Option 2 – First a part of the frame is assembled (step 4) and immediately after that the grill is installed (step 5). Then the next part of the frame is installed, and so on.

Installation instructions for lattice suspended ceiling, cassette model GLK 15/15

Suspended ceilings GLK are mounted on a frame with T-profiles KRAFT Fortis T-15. The GLK grille is inserted into the frame made of T-profiles. The example below shows a GLK 15/15 grille assembly.

Necessary tools for installation of suspended ceilings, cassette model GLK

  1. Main T-profile 3600 mm
  2. Transverse T-profile with a length of 1200 mm
  3. Longitudinal profile 600 mm
  4. L-shaped profile for wall mounting, 3000 mm
  5. Hangers
  6. Frame profile for the GLK grille module

Use special hanging accessories

To fasten the frame from the T-profile, use the special hooks for the purpose. Their installation must be done at the intersection of the T-profiles so that they do not interfere with the installation of the grid components.

Check the locking of the top and bottom profiles

After assembling the grill, it is necessary to check whether the locks of the upper and lower profile are well engaged. To do this, squeeze the lower profile on both sides of the lock with a little effort. If the lock is not closed, then you will hear a characteristic click and the profile will fall into place. In a correctly assembled grid, there should be no visible gaps between the profiles.

Check the locks on the framing profile

The next step is to check the correct fastening of the locks on the framing profile. If the lock is closed correctly, then the main profile should protrude 1.5 - 2 mm above the frame. This gap is necessary to compensate for the thickness of the T-profile. The frame profile rests on the supporting T-profile and the plane of the grid must be level with the level of the supporting T-profile.

Make sure the grid is securely fastened

The grid must rest on the T-profile and stand on the "spacer" of the supporting structure. It should have a slight clearance so that after installation it is enough to just move it slightly to get it into place. A small gap between the cassette and the T-profile is permissible in the connecting sections of the transverse T-profiles, since the 600 mm profiles have a stamped lock.

Check the correct position of the grid

To create a continuous plane effect, all individual grids must be aligned to the bottom profile of the grid. All lower profiles must be directed parallel to the supporting T-profile.
